This command is known (By at least one person) as “The best command out there for network mapping”, as it tells you what port things are plugged into, and the next hop and IP address of that thing.
In the case of both brands, you must be in ‘enabled’ mode first using en, and then enter one of the following commands:
Cisco:
sh cdp nei det
Dell:
show isdp neighbors detail
